Someone called this morning, the line disconnected, please do call again if you've any information. Thank you!

Thank you to that caller for calling back. Unfortunately, it was Billy, Jasper's brother. Biggest difference is Jasper has two eyes, Billy has one following surgery he had in 2019. Both 19. Jasper is much quieter than his brother too! But I really appreciate your kindness in calling.

A cat fitting Jasper’s description has been in my garden this morning, Royd Close Crosshills. I see Billy regularly too but didn’t get a close look. Does Jasper have white back legs?

Hi Angela. Thank you. To a degree he has white on his back legs, but not entirely. You might have seen Billy, his brother. The best way to distinguish is Billy has only one eye and Jasper has two. Jasper tends to be quiet but Billy is vocal.

Whoever called today and didn't leave a message, first of all thank you - I did try to return your call but you were on another. I've left a message and would ask please, do try again and if I'm not able to answer do leave me a message and I'll get back to you at a time that suits you.

There have been no sightings at all of Jasper, four months gone. Sometimes had calls that turned out to about his one-eyed brother, Billy, who is home safe but likes to do his rounds in the area. I'm going to give it until Spring before I end the subscription as I'm almost but not quite 100% sure Jasper must have died, who knows, maybe a sudden natural death like a heart attack. It's hard to believe nobody has even found him dead, although living in a semi-rural area there are lots of fields and wooded areas. Thank you to everyone who has so far come forward to try to help, it is appreciated. If he's gone I'd like to know how and what happened to him, but I might never know. His brother misses him as much as myself and my partner do. Please, if you know anything at all, let us know. I think it highly unlikely anyone has got Jasper and he would never leave by choice.

Strange coincidence after posting the above a couple of days ago. My partner was putting stuff in the bins this evening and thinks they saw Jasper running along a fence. Jasper has a slight kink to the tip of his tail. His (one-eyed) brother Billy has been indoors for several weeks, so can be ruled out at the moment when it comes to sightings. My partner noticed this cat had no collar, which would mean it's either been deliberately removed or it came off. The latter is very unlikely with Jasper, he never got his collar off (his brother can't seem to have one on for long). This possible sighting was Royd Close / Burnroyd Avenue. We know Jasper is/was familiar to a few households on Burnroyd. Please, if anyone sees him in the area or thinks they do, snap a photo if you can and call his name to see if you get a response, and let us know. If someone has Jasper, they know he isn't theirs and they probably know where his owners live. If they've been keeping him inside to hide him, he was always bound to find a way out somehow as he's been an outdoor-loving cat his whole 17-year life. He may be semi- or fully feral after all this time. Certainly confused. We are hopeful. Thank you.
