LOST
Sweetie
Name: Sweetie
Breed & Species: Domestic short-haired cat
Colour: Tabby
SimpleColour:
Went missing: 2 years ago
(18 July 2021 at around 22:00hrs)
Location: Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent ST10, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 8 years old (approx)
Sex: Neutered Male
Collar: No
Microchipped: No
Circumstances: I had been driving home from Manchester. Despite delaying my departure till evening, Sweetie and my other cat, who both hate the car anyway, the weather was still hot. Cats were in a large cage in back and windows were wide open plus fan was on full (car doesnt have air conditioning), but they were still very distressed so I went into Cheadle and parked by a Chinese takeaway, whose name and street I can't remember, and let them out of the cage. After a while they settled under the seats, their preferred place. I then went into shop to get myself some food, being very careful how I got out of the car. I think things were complicated by it being dark by then and by having two cats equally desperate to get out. I hung around for a bit to give them a break then drove on. It was only when reached where we were stopping night half an hour later that I found I'd got just the one cat - she'd still been making a lot of noise, but Sweetie is the calmer cat so I didn't expect to hear him once he felt comfortable. It then came back to me that while I was on pavement by car I'd heard mother and young child passers by and child said something like "look at cat". As my cats also like sitting on the parcel shelf, where they've attracted notice in the past, I just assumed one of them had gone up there while I was in shop and then gone back under seat before I drove away. I had reached under seat and stroked the other cat first, but just assumed Sweetie was snuggled on other side of her. I went back early next morming and spent an hour calling Sweetie down all the streets nearby and asking people if they'd seen a tabby cat. I daren't stay longer because the other cat was still in the car and it was getting very hot again so I had to get her home as quickly as could
Other info: Has no "markings" but belly is creamy/gingery/light brown. From back view he is almost clack and basic colour is blotched tabby not mackeral type. Medium to large size. Noticeably good looking. Neither fat nor thin and was in good health when lost

Do you have a photo? As your cat isn’t chipped keep an eye on Petslocated it’s the one some vets and rescue use. If you go to rsvc website you can research vets by postal area and most listings have an small address. Can you go back to the area and put up some posters? Facebook has loads of lost found pages usually by location hopefully you can find one that covers this area. Also be aware scam calls to people with lost pets from nasty ones to people trying to get money for vet fees and pretending to have the cat. Equally nasty.
