LOST
India
Name: India
Breed & Species: Moggy (short haired) cat
Colour: Black
Went missing: 13 years ago
(11 May 2011 at around 02:00hrs)
Location: Morton Close, Abingdon, Oxfordshire OX14 3, UK
Health: Healthy
Age:
Sex: Neutered Male
Collar: No
Microchipped: Yes
Circumstances: He was a very timid cat that we were keeping indoors. My husband thought that he had shut him downstairs and opened an upstairs window. It turned out that India was upstairs because I disturbed him when at 2 am. Since then we haven't seen him - we have checked all his hiding places, so assume that he got out of the window.
Other info: He is a very, very timid rescue cat. He had been shut up in the house, but we think that he managed to escape via an open window- which we didn't realise he had access to. He will run away if you try to approach him.

Hi philfran. That could well be him. Thanks for looking after him. Are you near to Morton Close? He has been returning at night time and eating food - we assume it's him, but we haven't been able to catch him.We phoned the Rescue Centre we got him from, and they are going to send out a trap for us, so that we can nab him on one of his nocturnal visits. We weren't sure whether to report him as being found or not, but the rescue centre advised us not to until he was safely back, just in case he turned up - as he seems to have done.

Hi Margarita, it looks like a long shot ,that this cat could be yours, as we live the other side of Abingdon to we are in Coromandel,, which is just off Preston rd by the Midget Pub. But it could be that the cat that you are now feeding could be another one I suppose, I dont know how to put a picture on this site, as i would like to do that ,it might give you a better idea ,

Dear Nick,It could be a different cat - although it's funny that the one you have turned up at more or less the same time, and is very timid. We think we have seen India a couple of streets away, but I am not sure that he could get to the other side of town. The Rescue centre say that they don't usually go very far. Now, if I could catch him, I could find out whether he is India, because he is chipped, or whether I have gone and accidentally kidnapped someone else's cat.As for photos - I just sent one to Animal Finders and they put it up for me. I imagine that you could do the same for the cat you have. Thanks,Margaret

I suppose you could say that he is found - he keeps coming back at night for food, although we haven't managed to catch him, to confirm that it really is him.

He was found and returned to living outside, but he subsequently died. We think he might have been knocked down, because he was found dead.
