Hi - Have you contacted Harts and Bicester Vets?He wouldn't have walked far from the place he was found so local neighbours may have the answer if he's simply escaped from a garden.. or did someone hand him in after he was stolen?If noone claims him after a few weeks I'd suggest contacting these people:http://britishtortoisesociety.com... unless the vets have a better suggestion.

Hello, this post was made by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team at Bicester Police Station following a found report by a member of the public. A leaflet drop has been carried out in the area near to where he was found (no response), posters to go up shortly. He has been checked out at a local vet’s (found to be in good health and not microchipped) and no-one has contacted any Bicester vets to report a lost tortoise as far as I am aware. The story has been featured (and retweeted several times) on our Twitter page (https://twitter.com/TVP_Bicester) and is going in the Bicester review this week. Neil (as we’ve nicknamed him) is being cared for by one of our officers who is a tortoise owner, we have contacted the local Chelonian Society branch and have a foster family lined up for him if the owner does not come forward. Hello, this report was posted by the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Bicester following a found report by a resident in Rowan Road. He has been checked at a local vets and has been found to be in good health and not microchipped, no lost reports via local vets as far as I am aware.We have conducted a leaflet drop in the area where he was found and posted on our Twitter page (https://twitter.com/TVP_Bicester). Posters will be going up in the area soon and the Bicester Review are also featuring the story. He is being temporarily homed by one of our officers who is a tortoise owner, we have also contacted the local Chelonian Society and have a foster carer lined up if the owner doesn't come forward. Owner contacted police as a result of police leaflet drop in area, however Animal Finders was a good way of raising awareness with the public.
