I live in Ambrosden and recently we have been aware of a cat coming around the area who looks a lot like the cat in the picture. He is definitely an un-neutered male and looks quite scruffy, but the only thing I am not sure about is that you say he is totally wild. After three bowls of food (he is absolutely ravenous and quite thin) he allowed us to stroke him quite happily and he really wanted to come inside. Unfortunately we already have a nervous cat so couldn't allow him in. If this is the cat you are looking for, I have to be honest and say that I wouldn't really be happy to think of him going back to being a farm cat as he seems desperate to get inside. We have some neighbours who have mentioned that they may be willing to give him a home, so finding him somewhere to live is a possibility.

Thanks SuzanneM but I dont think that can be him as I have tried to pick him up over many months and he will not allow this for more than about 3 seconds before he is clawing to get away. We have attempted to 'trap' him to get him to vets for a full once over and castration and there is no way he has ever gone any further than our conservatory door (he has to have an escape route) We managed to get him wormed and flea treated last month when he was outside eating (which we did every 3 months) it is possible that he could have wandered into Ambrosden as he arrived here from somewhere we know not where.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have to admit that I haven't tried to pick him up, but I have been stroking him again this afternoon. He is nervous but I have spent time talking to him and feeding him before trying to stroke him - he doesn't come actively seeking affection. He looks so much like the cat in the photo, even down to the black nose, and his appearance in Ambrosden would fit in with the date you gave. I don't know if you would like me to try to get a photo of him, or if you want to give me your mobile no. and I can call you when he is around so that you can come and see him. It sounds like you care a lot about him and it would be lovely if you could be reunited, if it is him. Let me know what you think.

Hi SuzzanneM it sounds promising and I would love to find out if it is him My email address is msmithwatch-1@yahoo.co.uk if you could email me I will send my mobile number (I am not sure about putting mobile number on here) I work Tuesdays to Thursdays 08.30 till 16.45 with an hour off between 12-13.00hrs. I am also off Friday afternoons. I would be delighted to find out if it is him although he is a stray I really miss him not being around. If it is him and he is returned I would be slightly less soft and get him straight into the basket and to the vets for a 'full service' although I have never pushed this as he seem so set in his ways and is a 'true cat' who likes things on his terms and certainly has no wish to be in a house. He was currently living in a shed in the barn with bedding and a heater over the winter period. He is as mentioned regularly wormed and flea treated and his next treatment is due on 1st August this year. I have the treatment along with 10 boxes of Whiskas senior food pouches if he becomes settled with anyone else in the village and I would give them the supplies. Thanks again for your replyMark

Forgot to mention a little trait of his is rolling over several times when he sees you and then moving just out of arms reach waiting for you to come to him for stroking under his chin..

What a wonderful site this is and thanks to all who have taken time to both run it and forward details about my cat. My cat has now been located and had moved to a local village and was being well looked after by at least one other family. Thanks Suzanne.
