Circumstances:	He was let out as normal in the morning, but didn't return in the afternoon.

Did you find your cat?There's a similar cat - except it has lighter brown markings on it's head (than your photo appears to show) - that's often around Orpine Close... and it appears to have 2 young ones with it when it is around.Might not be the same one and only mention it as you're close to Orpine Close.

Thank you so much for mentioning, will go and check, however I doubt it's my Rob as my Rob is (was) neutered male so having some young ones with him does not sound right... also his head was pretty black, only few brownish bits that really could be seen in sunlight :( It's been over 3 weeks now and I lost hope :(
