We're sad to report that Nelson's owner found him by the side of the road that borders the Southwold housing development. He'd been hit by a car and would have died instantly from his injuries. This is a terrible road for cats - I have lost two cats myself on that particular stretch of road. I shall close Nelson's report.

Helen,Thank you for your kind message and I am really sad to hear about your loss. It is devastating and not something that I ever dreamt we would have to go through - we are both still very upset that Nelson is no longer with us in person but thinking of the pleasure and good times that Nelson brought us, all the funny little stories does help. Everybody deals with grief in different ways and you will have your own way. Animal Finders helped us greatly because you realise that you are not alone and others have to deal with losses (and my hat continually goes off to Nick for getting the website up and running – I know it wasn’t easy.) Once again sorry about your tragic loss and thanks for your kind words – it helps to know people care.

That road is so dangerous for cats. They come out of Southwold and cross the road to go and hunt in the nearby fields. It's a 50mph road but I've seen people going much faster. A cat doesn't stand a chance.
