LOST
Ginge
Name: Ginge
Breed & Species: Domestic long-haired cat
Colour: Ginger
SimpleColour:
Went missing: 5 months ago
(27 July 2024 at around 17:00hrs)
Location: Fair Close, Bicester OX26 4YR, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 10 years old (approx)
Sex: Male
Collar: No
Microchipped: Yes
Markings: Missing some teeth
Circumstances: Ginge was a stray boy who appeared in the garden in 2022. He has since established himself, spending most days sunbathing in the garden between meals. He has his own kennel but sometimes chooses to sleep elsewhere. He is very loving and behaves like a pet but having been a stray for so long he remains his own cat. He often wanders off early evening and then reappears later to sleep in his kennel or reappear the next morning. He never misses his breakfast! He left 9n Saturday and apart from a speculative viewing under the hedge on Sunday morning that cannot be confirmed, he has not been seen since. He is not a young cat, being at least ten by estimation. He is in Metacam each morning for arthritis which had been restricting his availing to climb and jump as well as making him stiff. He has been much better in the meds. He has recently had a fur drop which may well be the usual malting but his usually fluffy tail had thinned quite a lot. His behaviour was normal though and he was due a vet check up. Ginge is likely to be timid if approached by anyone he doesn’t know so it may be easier to get someone out from here if he is seen but will notreadily come to you. Ge may otherwise run off. We are very afraid he has gone to die or perhaps died in his sleep wherever his alternative and very secret to him other bed is situated. We have listed Ginge as healthy when last seen but please bear in mind the proviso mentioned. Ginge is registered at both Bicester Vets and Hilltop Vets in Oxford.
Other info: He currently has patches of fur on his back that are growing back in following some clipping by the vet several months ago.

Apologies for the typos, a tablet was used and not properly proof read, I think it is still clear enough though.

I caught sight (only briefly) a few nights ago of a ginger cat moving quite slowly - at the top end of Moor Pond Close (odd numbers). See all kinds of cats here, but not often a ginger. Will have a look around tonight.

Thank you, we are grateful. There is always the chance he has got in a van or d9mething and ended up further away than usual. Ginge does move quite slowly and without his meds the arthritis will probably be causing him discomfort.

And as if by magic, Ginge strolled back into the garden early this afternoon. He has a nasty but not awful cut beneath his ear, which we will seek medical attention for, but otherwise he is just hungry and eating his umpteenth meal now. Thank you to all who looked out for him. I will close the case now.

He arrived home safely other than a cut under one ear. He is hungry but otherwise well.
