Has your cat ever gone out in the early morning? My cat, Matti Snowdrift is lost, registered here and I had been putting out food outside the front door. Two ginger cats were visiting separately to eat it - a thinner ginger cat like yours with whitish rings round the tail and a fuller bodied ginger cat. I will recommence putting out food infront of the Ring doorbell camera and if your Nala seems to be caught on camera I will let you know.
