H are you able to take to a vet to have the cat scanned for a microchip. I think I have seen a post on Facebook from the owner will see if I can find it. If the cat is not ill you can release with a paper collar asking owner to call you. There are instructions on Battersea website under found a cat section. Please ask proof of anyone claiming to own the cat as lots of hoaxers about. New Moon Rescue may be able to scan for you.
