The cat turned out not to be lost (until a few days ago) but living locally. A leaflet came through my door on Tuesday with a picture of a similar looking cat saying it had not returned hone. I rang the number on the leaflet and a man came round the same evening. When he called to the cat the cat came out of the undergrowth and clearly reacted to him as his owner. The cat was not originally lost but a few days ago he was having cancer tests and his owners had been advised to lock him up. He nevertheless managed to escape and eat the food I put out for him.
