I sat quietly in the garden and pretended to be a cat and ignore him and he came to investigate and I caught him - turned out that he was able to turn the lock on the cat flap

Please think of getting a tracker as takes away all the stress & anxiety & saves lives if your cat is trapped without food & water! After a day without water cats go down hill fast as dehy affects them badly & their organs start shutting down! I’ve used Weenect 2 it lightest one also has an audio ability so you can hear your cat (or whoever is around them) & your cat can heat you! So basically if you hear someone with your cat you can call out on the collar & they will hear you! But the tracker will tell you exactly where cat is so the audio is about training cat to come in in time I’ve trained my boys to hear their treat tin rattle then they know to come in! https://www.tuxedo-cat.co.uk/best-cat-trackers/
