LOST CAT: Black and white cat called Vinnie - Clitheroe area, Lancashire

LOST
Vinnie
Name: Vinnie
Breed & Species: Domestic short-haired cat
Colour: Black and white
SimpleColour:
Went missing: 9 months ago
(26 February 2024 at around 18:00hrs)
Location: West View, Clitheroe BB7 1DG, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 14 years old
Sex: Male
Collar: No
Microchipped: Not sure
Markings: He has a very distinctive tail it turns downwards in an arc, as a consequence of an RTA some years ago. (previously broken)
Circumstances: He went out at 6 pm and when he was called in later he was called, but could not be found. It is very out of character it was a bad night and Vinnie does not usually go far but has been known to go in neighbours houses without them knowing, or climbing onto the backseat of car. The neighbours have been informed, suspected sightings but no positive confirmed sightings. His owners were an elderly couple who died last year within a fortnight of each other, his family were not willing to take Vinnie so he moved in with their neighbours but eats and stays with us. He was of slight build, 14 years old in difficult circumstances but was not ill that we were aware of, but slender and an older cat. As his family died we are not aware of his medical history though we have seen him most days for the past 14 years.
Other info: Slight build, tuxedo, mainly black with a patch of white on his chest under his chin with white paws.

I don’t go to the industrial estate very often but if i do see him again i’ll let you know. Fine for you to give me your new number.

Hi, I saw him when I called to put a poster up and look for him. I don't think it is Vinnie but he looks the spitting image of him except he has a bit more white on his chest and Vinnie could not move his tail after a RTA some years ago. That being said, he looked like skin and bone so I gave him some food and collected him in a cat carrier. I am taking him to the vet at 4.45pm to check for a chip and get him sorted he looked like he'd not eaten in months. Thank you so much for contacting me, I'm crossing my fingers he'll be ok even if it is not Vinnie..

I’m sorry it’s not Vinnie. I’m glad you managed to get the other cat to the vets. Hopefully they’ll be looked after now.

Hi, yes, he was really in need of care and some decent food. He was checked for a chip which he does have and he's called Guiness. I took him to Bowland Vets so he's staying there for the next 7 days. They left voicemails yesterday and email but had not heard back yesterday but they will let me know how he is. Apparently he wolfed the food down at the vets, I'd already given him a tin of gourmet. They were going to give him the once over and hopefully he'll be feeling better with some good food and warmth. Thank you for everything. If Vinnie is somewhere I hope someone does the same for him as for Guiness or any. Best wishes Jayne.

Hi, I just wanted thank you, I just spoke to the vet, unfortunately Guiness took a turn for the worse over the weekend whilst at the vets but died peacefully. He was eating and drinking normally but was massively under weight, so they thought there may have been an underlying health problem or simply age. Thank you so much, for ensuring he did not die alone and uncared for, and that at least he had food, warmth and shelter in his last days. Many thanks, Jayne.

Aw what a shame. I actually called in to Bowland vets to see how he was getting on as i’d been thinking about him. I’m also glad he was safe and warm in his last days.
