Cat is NOT stray/missing after all. Has a good, loving home on the same road as me, but apparently chooses to spent a good deal of time outside. I had thought this cat was lost because s/he was literally stealing packets of cat food and opening them to eat, but, no, s/he is still going back home as normal and eating there as well. Looks a bit scruffy, but apparently has long track record of being "badly behaved"!
