Circumstances:	The kitten ran across the road as I was driving home. I swerved, but it ran under my wheels. I pulled over and found that it was dead. I moved it to the verge at the side of the road.

UPDATE: I put the cat’s body in my car and drive to the Dart Vale Veterinary Group in Totnes, where a member of staff took custody of it. I called them this afternoon to ask whether its owner had been identified, and I was told that it was not microchipped. They said they would continue to hold the body for a few days. They can be found on Station Road, and their phone number is 01803 862142.
