I put posters up in my local area, and put flyers through the doors of all of my neighbours. I received a call earlier this evening from someone who said that he was sure that his neighbour had started feeding my cat and had taken him in as their own. He told me that the cat was identical to my poster photograph. He also told me that the cat has previously worn a collar with a pink tag, but that this had been removed. I went to the person's house, but there was no reply. So, I put a note through their door asking them to call me asap so that I could check whether they had my cat. But, then, a short while ago I received a call from the same person who had called the first time to tell me that he had spotted my cat and had managed to pick him up before he ran off. So, I went to meet him and got my Sammy back safely. I was right that someone had been feeding Sammy. I had not seen him for a month, but there had been signs until a couple of weeks ago that he had been back home while I was out at work during the day. So, I figured that someone else was feeding him, which was the reason for his sporadic appearances. I am very angry about it all, as I consider it theft. I think that when Sammy went missing a couple of months ago (the last time I reported it on here), it was the same reason - I think that the same people have been feeding him the whole time.

Hi Liz, i would be furious too - it's not like Sammy looks like a starving stray! Thank God for the guy that helped you get him back. There are hundreds of beautiful cats in local animal sanctury's if they want one.
