Just seen this Found cat and we recognise it from a local neighbour's doorstep. We understand you adopted the cat yourself and just wanted to check that he was ok as we worried about him after not seeing him anymore.

He had to be put down as he had cancerous growths in his mouth and cancer in his right eye he was a sweet cat but sadly neglected but at peace now. thanks for your message . David.

Hi David, Thanks for letting me know. I am so sad to read about the cat, but I am also somehow relieved. My husband and I saw him several times at the doorstep of ‘his house’ and always commented on how bad its infection looked, and how bad it also was that those people did not let their ill cat in that late at night. He was clearly neglected. He was very amiable, and happy to be stroked and receive attentions. When we once managed to get hold of the ‘owners’, they were indeed disdainful and evasive. After that episode, we even considered to adopt the cat but we simply did not see him anymore. We have now reasons to believe that the owners did not take our interest well, and abandoned the animal to avoid further inquiries and the overall troubles of his poor health. I wish we had reported them to be honest … Thanks very much for taking care of him in his final moments. Surely he is now in a better place.

Hi Liliana thanks for your reply yes it was really sad we called him Bruce and he was very affectionate but it was too late to save him unfortunately. You sound like a very caring person and in no way should you feel guilty. It makes my blood boil when I see how uncaring some people are to their animals . But yes he is at peace now and had lots of love at the end. Take care and thank you again. David.
