Did you ever find out if this cat has an owner? II noticed this cat coming into my patio about 10 days ago after I'd put out a couple of catnip cigars intended for another feral cat! I've seen the cat in this post 3 times, always late at night. tried to befriend him, but he runs away.

Hi I was going to put up posters, then he disappeared, then returned looking fat, so I didn’t. There’s a lovely lady on arundel sq called Eleni and I thought she might be feeding him, but I’ve not seen her and can’t remember her door number. I’ve seen him near the flats on furlong road too

I only ever see him late at night too and cant get near him

What is the other feral youre feeding?

The other feral is a mackerel tabby. I've been seeing him around for about 2.5 years. I will put up a separate post on this website. I've already put up posters on the street, on Animal Search UK and asked a bunch of neighbours and no one knows whom he belongs to.

Have you ever used a trap? Once lockdown is over, the fluffy black and white cat should really be scanned for a chip and then neutered if he doesn't have an owner.

Yes I had ferals I trapped as kittens and still have one. She's 20 now and on her last legs really. I was going to borrow a trap and get fluffy after putting up posters but realised he was getting fed. Also Ziggy (local psycho tabby moved in) and I got waylaid taking him back to his owner on a regular basis! I’ll print some posters next week and get them up. I’ve not seen mackerel – maybe in passing but not recently. Currently got 2 shy black cats hanging round the garden, but they look well nourished.

Fluffy (the cat in your post above) and the other cat that I think is feral had a fight tonight. I think they were fighting for territory in my patio. White fluffy fur was flying. They both need to get neutered big time. I've ordered a chip scanner.

Brilliant re. the scanner. I also saw Fluffy fur all over the garden, and him walking back and forth along my wall during the day, so yes fighting for territory. I will get posters printed tomorrow and put up Wed and then if no response, operation trapping once restrictions lifted. I'm happy to home fluffy once neutered as long as he's nice to my cat and if not can continue feeding outside. You can get my phone no. off the poster if you like, as I'm not sure we're allowed to put it on here.

I may possibly be able to scan Fluffy - I can get near enough to put food in front of him, so will try getting him more used to me.

Hi, any developments on finding out if this cat has an owner? I have managed to trap and neuter the feral cat that keeps coming to my flat. I used the C4 scheme and Goddard Vets neutered him. I have a trap, so if you would like to trap your feral, let me know and I can help.
Catfindergeneral
Catfindergeneral
Yes he’s called gallo and is someone’s “outside cat” as he won’t stay in. She gets benefits and thinks she’d be able to put him in a basket, but I rang Zasman which is walking distance but they’re not doing C4 at the moment.
Catfindergeneral

Goddard Vets next to Canonbury overground does C4. That's where I took my guy.

Goddards were really good. She should really get him neutered because he is getting into fights and probably has FIV. (My feral once attacked him and my feral tested positive for FIV, so Gallo probably has it now too). FIV cats can live long happy lives (they do NOT need to be put down), but it is critical that they be neutered to minimise the chance of fights and avoid infecting other cats.

I walked back to Laycock Street from Goddards with my feral in a heavy trap. It took about 10 mins.

Hi I spoke to owner and she said he couldn’t get him the basket so would be great if I can borrow the trap. My no. Is 07817 882 135 and I can ring you straight back. I don’t think I could carry a cat in a trap all the way to Goddard, but will see if my upstairs neighbour could drive us and/or transfer him to a basket. The owner has another neutered male cat but they don’t fight apparently so hopefully fiv won’t be an issue. Not sure whether to mention it to her as might freak her out. I know you have to monitor their gums etc with though. Did you keep the mackerel cat?
Catfindergeneral
Catfindergeneral
This cat is an outdoor cat and original owner had difficulty keeping him in, though she feeds him every morning. He has now been neutered so will hopefully wander less than before but the finder will also keep an eye on him - sadly he has FIV/FELV but at least now he is not passing it on fighting.
