Went missing:	14 years ago (20 August 2009 at around 22:00hrs)
Location:	Flatford Pl, Kidlington, Oxfordshire OX5 1, UK
Health:	Healthy
Age:	16 years old
Sex:	Neutered Male
Collar:	Blue
Microchipped:	No
Markings:	No
Circumstances:	We had been away on holiday for a week and during our absence Minstrel was excellently cared for by a neighbour. He was seen/ate his food every day up to and including Thursday morning. We returned home Thursday midday and oddly (given that we subsequently learnt he was around the area later that day) did not come home when we called. He usually does. He was last seen on the field next to our house at 10.30 pm by neighbours. Again, odd that he did no come home in response to our calling. On the Friday it rained very heavily from about 10.30 to 1pm and our fear is that he might have jumped into an open van as he hates getting wet. He does not usually jump into cars and vans, though. Another thought is that he might be avoiding us because we left him but I doubt this as we've been away lots before and he's always been overjoyed to see us back, no sulking at all.

Great news! We just had a call from Minstrel's owner to say that he's just come home. He's very thin and a little distressed. It looks like he may have been locked in somewhere while somebody was away on holiday. Susie is going to take him to the vets for a check over.This report is now closed.

Minstrels owner reports no real problems after his ordeal:"The vet said Minstrel is in remarkably good shape considering although very de-hydrated and always a possibility of kidneys being affected. . He's eating and drinking loads although he has been sick once and used his litter tray a lot. Not surprising seeing as his poor old system hasn't had anything inside it for two whole weeks."
