Hi can you take to a vet to see if chipped please? They should be able to loan you a cat carrier. It’s free. Also if you look on Battersea website you can report to them and they will cross check any missing. Thank you.

Thank you for you reply. Will got to nearest vet this morning and ask for help.as the cat has been crying outside my windows all night trying to get in.it also still has the paper collar on that I put on it.

Oh that is sad. Let us know how you get on. I have checked on the Facebook page I am on not seen any matches yet. Thank you.

You may need to pay a refundable deposit to borrow the cat carrier.

I think there is a Goddards near you.

Molly101
Yes there is a goddards near me in Kennington lane so I'm going to go there soon.I have been on battersea website and registered the cat and put a photo on it too.and on Monday I put it on animal search UK and have also put a paper collar on the cat but have had no response.

Poor cat. Are you able to adopt the cat if there is no owner?
reggiemollieros
Molly101
Unfortunately not. I live in a very small rented flat and have got a large female cat.but I'm not allowed to have another one but if I had my own property I would definitely love to keep it.in have a feeling this cat has been dumped on the estate because everything I have done no one has come forward but it has definitely been someone's pet as it constantly wants me to stroke it and it purrs at me everytime it sees me.

Maybe the Vets will help but depends if they have an arrangement with a rescue. Battersea will likely take but have a waiting list. Celia Hammond in Lewisham are packed. Cats Protection might help. At least the cat is safe for now.

When I say safe I mean being looked out for :)

I have just got back from goddards the vet they borrowed me a cat carrier to bring the cat in to see if it has a microchip but if it has not got one they can't keep it there as they already have one that was handed in yesterday in lambeth. So they I will have to try take it to battersea and see if they can help.but now I have a problem as soon as the cat saw the carrier it ran down stairs and is hiding under the parked cars in the back if the flats so it is obviously scared of the carrier because it has never ran away from me.

Sorry for delay. Could you try feeding them cat in the carrier for a while leaving the door open so the cat can come and go from the carrier. Once the cat is going in willingly throw some high value food to the back of the crate (cooked chicken or cheese) and you wil be able to close the door. But careful as might scratch once trapped.

Thank you i will definitely try this tonight and in 5 he morning as the cat is now sleeping on my balcony in a box that I put a blanket and a toy in.

Aw you are really helping this cat. Yes it might take a while before it works but that was how I trapped my cat when he was a stray. Took a lot of patience. Good luck. And is this doesn’t work maybe a rescue can come and trap him? Or we can see if somebody can come with a scanner
reggiemollieros
Molly101
That's what I'm hoping for that someone can come with a scanner as I asked battersea but they said no they don't do it none of the cat rescue centres are able to come out.Battersea also said today there is a waiting list of 4 weeks but then I still have to make an appointment and bring the cat in but I don't want to wait that long.but I will keep feeding the cat and try my hardest to keep it safe .I've just been outside playing with it.
reggiemollieros
reggiemollieros
I will ask if anyone can do that.

Hi how are getting on? A friend of mine says you can probably get a rescue place at Cats Protection Mitcham and she can help with transport. They will scan the cat there.
reggiemollieros
Molly101
Cat protection in Mitcham are not being very helpful at the moment I sent yet another email this morning and they sent me the same reply as last week .I explained I had already done what they suggested so they sent me another email and again told me to take it to the vet so today they have been very unhelpful again and I don't know why.

I have someone can come scan tomorrow after 8pm. Any good? Will the cat be there??
reggiemollieros
Molly101
Yes that is amazing thank you so much.

The cat has been taken to stepping stones rescue as it had no microchip.
