Circumstances:	Was exiting home bargains and the canary flew down next to me, hopped along the floor into the shop I realized that this was someone's pet that had escaped, I managed to towel the bird with my shawl, the canary was obviously tame. I am already a bird owner and had a spare bird cage at home so thought it best to take the canary home with me and attempt to find the owner which I am guessing should be quite close as I don't believe that the bird had been out that long and is definitely a caged pet and will not have the energy to fly far.

I put up posters all around the area and posted found reports on as many websites dedicated to lost pets and I have received no contact from anyone, so as my family are already bird owners we have decided to keep the canary and named it Hamilton our other bird who is a ringneck parakeet is called Jensen. If the owner does eventually turn up we will gladly return the bird.
