(31 March 2019 at around 15:00hrs)
Location: Birtley Avenue, Middlesbrough TS5 8LA, UK
Health: Healthy
Age:
Sex: Unknown
Collar: No
Microchipped: Not sure
Markings: A few white hairs on chest green eyes
Circumstances: I was feeding the birds and the cat was on the fence trying to hide from view. He withdrew very quickly when I approached him. I went in side the house and noticed him eating the bird food. So I opened a tin of tuna and put it out for him along with a saucer of lacto free milk. He came down for it as soon as I went inside. It was clear he was very hungry. I went to shops and bought cat food and cat milk. Since then I have fed him every day andnow he sits at the door waiting for food and now lets me stroke him. He is a beautiful cat.
Other info: Large cat I think male. Is starting to look shabby. Found in garden a few weeks ago. Feeding him daily and have built up trust enough to let me stroke him. Engine oil on fur which was only noticeable when I stroked him. Likes affection but quite timid and nervous of people. Seems to have a very loving nature. Follows the sun around in garden to get warm. I would take him in but my partner is allergic to cats.

I took the cat to White Cross vets in Coulby Newham Middlesbrough to see if he was microchipped but he wasn't and he wasn't neutered either. They liked him so much they decided to keep him for 7 days and publicised him on their Facebook page to see if anyone would come forward and claim him but no one did. The staff loved him so much that one of the trainee vets decided to adopt him. So now he is microchipped, had all his inoculations and has been neutered. He is doing exceptionally well and his new name is Dave! The staff were fantastic!!! A really nice happy ending and first class honours to Dave the cat for being such a beautiful and charismatic fellow.
