I work with the RSPCA and have also had a report about this parrot. It came through too late in the day but I will attempt to locate tomorrow. it has been reported to the relevent agencies.

Well.......he did come down to a lower branch but would,nt be tempted by the food. Its an Orange Wing-amazon and looks in good health. Cant really think what he might be eating at the moment although he was enjoying stripping bark from a branch and dropping it on me. !! I stayed about half an hour but he just went back high again. I am in Banbury again tomorrow morning and will pay him another visit........

Good luck. I've got no idea how you catch a parrot! He seems to be quite sociable, making an appearance when the children are leaving school

Well, no interest in my food today and have found out why.....it is feasting on the berries of the yew tree. This is quite amazing really as the wood from the tree is actually toxic to parrots and the seed inside the berry could kill a cat if eaten. !!! There are no clever tricks for catching parrots.....its a waiting game really. Escaped pet parrots will usually seek out humans for food ect.....but this one seems quite happy in the wild. I will keep visiting until we come to some sort of conclusion.

Thank you Dennis. At school he was most recently sited on Tuesday 28th November very low down in the branches, so he is still alive, despite the freezing weather. It was suggested he may be roosting and surviving at nearby Bodicote farm shop barn and potentially supplementing his foods at the same time ... the mystery continues!!! He is such a lovely bird and so used to humans, it seems strange that his disappearance has gone unreported! Thanks again for all your help!

Hi all, it has been at least 10 days since our parrot was sighted :-( so either he has found a new home, gone back to his original home, or sadly succumbed to the Winter Cold :-( thanks for all the efforts you have made Dennis it was greatly appreciated, regards, Jem x

Hi Jem, I have called in a couple of times over the last week but, as you say, no sign of him. If you do hear anything about him please do give me a shout as always willing to help......its getting very cold now and would expect him to be trying to find shelter. Dennis. x

Thank you for your support Dennis, I am very much hoping that he has found somewhere warm and safe and not frozen to death somewhere, not knowing how smart these birds are ;-) ... anyway we have a page for this chap if you are on facebook, it's where people make any reports of sighting, but of course I will report here also should we hear anything more, again thank you for your support for this lovely fella. Thanks" target="_blank">http://www.facebook.com/BishopLovedaySchoolParrotThanks again x

Bird disappeared during cold spell despite many attempts to capture to keep warm safe and fed.
