Just to say that I've been to see this cat and to scan him for a microchip. Sadly he isn't chipped. The picture doesn't show it very well but he's an absolutely gorgeous marmalade-ginger cat with no white at all, unneutered, young (about 1 as a guess), and very, very friendly and playful. He was crossing back and forth across Banbury Rd (a very dangerous place to cross!) and has been taken in by a couple who were concerned aboiut his safety (thereby discommoding their own cat...). Best, Katherine (Lost and Found Coordinator, Oxford and District Cats Protection)

Hi Wendy,The ginger cat you found is probably the one that kept trying to go into the ferry centre in Summertown on Sunday. I found a little black cat lingering there and he followed me home and was very affectionate. The ferry centre said he and the ginger had been hanging around all day. They were probably abandoned. The black cat I found is also a year and very playful. The vet said he's in good health. He is not micrichipped or neutered. I am looking after him. I already have a female cat that looks exactly like him, she has green eyes, he has yellow eyes. So he is safe and happy and well.

Hi Stelle,Thanks for the information - I saw your poster by the Ferry Centre on the Saturday. If the cat we found is the same one that would explain why he was so hungry after being "out and about" for at least two days! From what you say it does look as if they were both abandoned so the probability of finding an owner is looking very unlikely. I live abroad & left England on the 1st Jan, leaving the cat with my parents, but they can't keep him - they already have one cat & are in their 80s and 90s so wouldn't be able to cope with or commit to another very young cat.

Hi Wendy,Thanks for your note. I was so glad the ginger was ok. The black cat will probably stay with me if he doesn't wander off again- has done twice so far! I also have a 3 year old female cat, so hopefully they will be fine together. I'm away for a few weeks, but let me know how it goes finding a home for ginger.Stella

Hi Stella, The owner has been found! She had been on holiday leaving someone to feed her two cats & came back to find them both missing. Not sure if the other one was the one you found?
