This cat has now been re-homed. Details supplied by Barbara:"Gordon, as he is now called, stayed at the oxford animal clinic for a few days while waiting for someone to claim him. We received one response which confirmed that he had been wandering the area since at least February & had survived by entering various catflaps, stealing food & terrorizing the resident cats. He was neutered & scheduled to go to a rehoming centre in Stadhampton as soon as possible. Meanwhile the staff at the clinic went out of their way to look after him & he turned out to be a lovely character. Luckily a home was found within the week & he has settled in happily with his new owner."We're glad his story has ended well.
