LOST
Harley
Name: Harley
Breed & Species: Domestic short-haired cat
Colour: Black and white
SimpleColour:
Went missing: 3 years ago
(04 November 2020 at around 21:00hrs)
Location: Bailey Road, Oxford OX4 3HY, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 9 years old (approx)
Sex: Neutered Male
Collar: No
Microchipped: Yes
Markings: He has a patch of fur shaved off on his chest where we have been treating him for an infection (very clearly visible when he went missing on 4th November, though of course this may heal and grow back if he stays missing for several days or weeks).
Circumstances: We were in our back garden as we had made a fire. We let him come outside and wander out into the garden. After some time, we realised he had been gone for a very long time. We tried calling him and shaking his bowl of food outside and leaving food outside the next day, but he has not returned. He has gone outside before, but he is a homebody and he normally only goes outside very briefly for a few minutes. Most often he confines himself to our garden, and on the occasions when he has explored further the longest he has ever gone for has been 20 minutes. So this is unprecedented and highly unusual for him. We wonder whether the sound of fireworks coming from nearby could have frightened him, or the fire confused his scent, or if he was invited inside somewhere else. He is fairly healthy although he is recovering from a skin infection on his chest.
Other info: He weighs approx 4.7kg, and is fairly lean, not fat. His face is white below and in between the eyes, and his throat and chest, legs and paws are also white, but his tail is black, and he has some large black patches on his back and on the top of his head.

Harley came back home, apparently of his own accord. We don't know where he was or why he went missing but he is back home safe and sound.
