Purdy was kindly taken to our local vet after being spotted sleeping out in someone's garden for a few days. I'd earlier reported her lost and given her chip details to the vet directly, (and also through Animal Finders as they are part of the network), so they were able to contact me. She's now home, a little grubbier and skinnier than usual, but settling in again.

Glad to hear it Matt. Do think she just wandered too far and couldn't find her way home? Was she a long way away?Nick

She's a complete indoor cat and hasn't left the garden in the last 7 years, so must have got spooked somehow. (A neighbour had seen two cats fighting in the road that afternoon.) We've had some loud roadworks going on outside and so I expect she'd got lost and had been laying low. She was actually on the same road just a few houses away, (just as all of the "lost cat behaviour" websites said she was likely to be!). Thanks again for the site!
