So sorry to read about your missing cat.Have you tried contacting the council - if a member of the public reports a deceased animal, the council will remove it and try to identify it. I think the dog warden scans any found pets for microchips, so it might be worth contacting him as well.Kindest regards.

To DMHughesThank you for your message. I have contacted the council on 2 occassions and they have no reports of removing a cat. I have also tried the local vets, police and this website was my last hope of finding her. I think it will remain a mystery. My only hope is that she didn't suffer.....

So sorry to report that I've discovered that a neighbour saw a dead cat fitting Mia's description on the Nightingale Avetraffic island, and reported it to a lady who lives nearby and works at the Oxford Animal Sanctuary. She was collected and taken to the Sanctuary to check for a microchip, which is why there was no sign of her later in the day.I'm so very sorry.

To DMHughesThanks again for your message. I am so relived to know that she was collected and treated kindly and is now at peace. I will call the sanctuary just to confirm. Regards

To DMHughesSorry I forgot to say, I guess the person who found Mia lives close by? Would you please pass on my sincere thanks to them and to the person who took her to the Sanctuary, at least I know she was treated with respect. It was upsetting me terribly not knowing where she was or who had removed her. It would have been nice to have been able to bury her in my garden but I guess its too late now. Anyway thanks again for the information, you have been very kind.
