Judging by photos of similar, this appears to be a young, healthy, top-eared, cinnamon pearl, pink eyed, male rattie.

This little rat is obviously lonely and would be so much better off with his old friends than with his foster mum (who knows nothing about ratties). If you know anyone who may have lost him, please ask them to make contact and get him back home.

Having been caught in a humane trap after a few days living in the wild (and eaten food provided), 'Buffy' was clearly very lonely in a rat-free foster home. He did not appear to have eaten or drunk in his final 24 hours, though had made himself a comfy bed. He died suddenly at the vets after being treated for parasites. The vet tried unsuccessfully to revive him with oxygen. She noted that he had reacted badly to being handled and was small and underweight (but age not known).
