Hi, I’m a volunteer for Hector’s House Cat Rescue - happy to scan the cat for a microchip? Ref PR86870

Hi, thank you. I still can’t get close to the cat but I’ll keep on trying!

If necessary, we can set up a trap using food. Is the cat visiting your garden? If yes, I can leave the trap with you and hopefully catch him/her.

That would be great, although we have three cats of our own who might enjoy playing with a trap. We have an old farm and the cat is living and eating here. It seems to want to get close to our cats and followed one up to the back door this morning.

Ok - would we have the option of keeping your three cats in for a short time if I sat and monitored the trap from a distance? I’m away at the moment but happy to pop over on Thursday or Friday this week and we can hatch a plan? Might be easier if we liaise directly via WhatsApp (so that we can share photos etc) so shall I give you my email address and we can go from there?

I should be able to sort out our cats - for a short time. Thursday would be difficult as there will be very noisy mowing and strimming all day, so all four cats will go off for the day. Friday would be excellent. I haven’t been able to get a usable photo yet but having got closer today , I’m more hopeful. I think it’s probably a young adult male with a very distinctive face. He is very special and someone must be distraught to have lost him. Our mobile signal is awful and the ipad WhatsApp is not good. Very happy to exchange and liaise by email though.

After being here for several months, he chose to move on. He is being very well cared for and enjoys being an ‘only’ cat. He still visits us for a few days occasionally.
