A neighbour backing onto our garden phoned from a poster. Tabitha was in his garden. She was terrified, tiny and starving. She couldn't walk. I think she'd been trapped and had nothing to eat or drink for three weeks. We rushed her to the vets, who put her on a drip as she was severely dehydrated. The vet warned me she might have to be put down if her kidneys were compromised and failing, but she survived the night. Next day she did a bit better eating some special recovery food. After day three we were allowed to take her home. She was still very skinny, just bone and fur. She weighed 1.4 kgs so she'd lost 1.7 kgs. A few days on and Tabitha is doing much better. Eating a variety of kidney friendly foods, as well as mackerel and sardine! She has to have antibiotic due to a severe cold but that's going. She's so happy to be home and lying in the garden in the sum was a lovely sight. Her thyroid disease is oddly improved, so that's a gift. She couldn't walk when I found her in the neighbours garden but she's getting her sealegs now. She likes to look at the back garden through the patio doors. A great gift to have our dear Tabitha back. I think she has turned the corner and will go from strength to strength. Thank you for your support. Julie.
