Sorry Ernie is awol. It's a bit late now to be looking under hedges and things, but there is a lot you can still do to search for him. Do call regularly - he may not be too far away and someone may be feeding him. (Common problem). I'm sure you have postered around the area thoroughly and posted flyers through doors. Go round the posters and write 'still missing' on them - keeping Ernie in people's minds. Ask around, especially houses with children, as they can be very observant - maybe offer a little reward to the children. Poster in all shops/museums/restaurants around loads of pet lovers will look ad they will remember as his colour is unusual . Check the local nursing homes too. It is also common for cats to climb into DELIVERY VEHICLES. Was there one around your/a neighbour's house that day? Supermarket vehicle? Amazon deliveries/post office van? Ask all neighbours. They may not be able remember now, but you could contact all delivery companies. They keep records and usually use GPS these days so can say where the van went next, possibly the hop off point if your cat got into the van. If you suspect this, put notices/flyers around the area you think Ernie may have hopped off too. You could put an advert in the local paper - I found a cat this way. You could also try a national paper / local radio and social media. Hope Ernie is home very soon. The microchip means you ALWAYS HAVE HOPE, don't give up. He's out there somewhere, you just have to narrow it down a little! You could also post him missing on the website called doglost.co.uk - they are really good and have loads of people on the ground looking for all sorts of lost pets! Thinking of you.
