Location: Princess Grove, West Bromwich B71 2DS, UK
Health: Injured or unwell
Age:
Sex: Unknown
Collar: No
Microchipped: Not sure
Circumstances: This cat has wondered in and out since January when the weather is bad. It sits at the top of the stairs and is always struggling to breath and its worse when trying to eat. My 3 cats don't bother it, despite them normally being quite playful. It wont let me pet it but i am able to get kind of close before it runs away. Its back every day mostly at night when its cold.
Other info: The cat is breathing harshly through it nose and has a cut across its nose which is dried. Its mouth looks swollen but i can't get close enough to check it.

Hi there, we had an injured stray like this last year, the rspca bought a trap and took her to get treatment. The number was 0330 123 8585. Have you tried cats protection as the poor thing sounds quite unwell. . Once you get through to someone on the rspca injured animal option, just explain how the poor thing is, i did have to ring a couple of times, but they did help us with a cat like this by us. Hope this helps. once they trap her they can also check for chip. X

0330 1234 999. That was the other number we rang for rspca, tbey won't usually bother with strays but i explained how poorly the cat was and that i couldn't get close enough to trap it. They took her to rspca hospital in Birmingham

Thank you i will try and call the number asap. I live in a neighborhood with a lot of elderly people, i think its owner may have died and left it as a stray. I honestly can't tell.

It sounds as though definitely stray if you can't approach her/him. Rspca will help but only if stress that the animal is in distress and injured. Catchat.org is also a good website with helpful numbers. Craymar cat rescue are helpful, just leave answerphone message and they will return call, 01214451840. Wythall animal sanctuary has also taken in strays that we've found, they're a fantastic charity.... 01564823288. But another avenue of help are cats protection, especially as cat unwell, they usually will come and trap/collect, think your local numbers are...03453711854 or 07815910603. X
