Hi there, if you can take the cat to the nearest vet in west Bromwich, they will check for a microchip for free, I've had to do it a few times with a couple of strays near us. Failing that, there are scan angels that come to you to scan the cat for a microchip. There is Davjinia on 07816910846, or Shani on 07514651010. Both are local. Bet the poor thing is hungry and with all this cold weather too, has it somewhere to sleep for tonight? X X

Hi I've been feeding him when he turns up and I leave my shed door open enough for him to get out of the weather if he wants to. Thanks for the info regarding the vets and scan angels I didn't know about that. Hopefully someone sees the post and he gets back home.

That's really kind of you, we've ended up helping a lot when I lived in wednesbury, the orchard vets in wednesbury have checked a couple of cats for us in the past couple of years, all for free, it also helped when I posted on Facebook, quite a few animal lovers to help, if you get stuck, The stray cat rescue team west midlands have a Facebook page, they've helped my friend December by collecting a poor cat and rehoming her. Catchat.org has all the local rescues on there if needed 😺 X

I've got 2 cats of my own and that's the only reason I haven't taken him in. It's heartbreaking as he's such a friendly cat. Thanks for the info again. I'm not on Facebook but can certainly ask someone who is to use this resources.
