Circumstances:	As mentioned in the 'any other info' section previously.
Other info:	I am so sorry to say I found this cat dead, on the grass verge by the A40 Ridinghurst turn, opposite Collinwood Road United Reformed Church today, April 30th, around 8.30pm. It had been hit by a car some hours before. Someone had taken off the collar, presumably to check if it had a tag, and then laid it next to the cat. I went home for my own cat's travel crate and picked it up (with the help of another lady and her father) - as I didn't want a fox to have it overnight :( It is safe at my house for now. Tomorrow I will try to find a vet open on the bank holiday to see if it has a microchip & hopefully find the owner.

I managed to get the deceased cat to a vet that was open on the bank holiday and had the microchip read. His owners were contacted and they collected him from the vet.
