Lost cat: Black cat called Jiji - Winchester area, Hampshire

Went missing:	over a year ago (13 August 2022 at around 09:00hrs)
Location:	Wales Street, Winchester SO23 0ET, UK
Health:	Healthy
Age:	4 years old
Sex:	Neutered Male
Collar:	No
Microchipped:	Yes
Markings:	Bright yellow eyes, a couple of white hairs here and there (but not patches)
Circumstances:	Last seen at 9am this morning. Appreciate it's not been long, however, at 1:30pm we found someone had placed his collar at the entryway to our building (the collar was closed, which would have had to have been done so by a person) which we had attached a tracker to. Tracker last placed him outside the front of our building, on the main road at 9am. He never usually goes near the road so we are very worried, made worse by the appearance of the collar and the fact that he usually returns multiple times a day.
Other info:	Last seen at 9am near the buildings opposite the Wales Street entrance to Winnall Moors. At 1:30pm we found someone had placed his collar at the entryway to our building — this has a tracker attached that we usually use to keep an eye on his whereabouts. Tracker last placed him outside the front of our building, on the main road at 9am. He never usually goes near the road so we are very worried, made worse by the appearance of the collar and the fact that he usually returns multiple times a day. Hello, it is early days. Jiji may have had a scrap with another cat and lost his colour. Presumably the tracker would identify where it was lost or removed.

Hi mornhill76 — yes, it last showed him outside the front of the building on the main road, which makes me a bit nervous. Hopefully it just popped off and someone reconnected it and left it to be found.

I know Pets Reunited contact vets etc. but have you rung Mildmay and Companion Care. If the collar was fastened I feel that Jiji has lost it through a fight or sometimes they get removed because they become entangled in branches. Have you looked under bushes/hedges nearby or in the nature reserve?
