LOST
Bruno
Name: Bruno
Breed & Species: Moggy (short haired) cat
Colour: Black
Went missing: 13 years ago
(21 December 2010 at around 20:00hrs)
Location: Oxford Rd, Oxfordshire OX29 4, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 23 years old
Sex: Male
Collar: Silver grey reflective
Microchipped: No
Markings: Tiny patch of white on his chest, not obviously noticeable. Small scar on his top lip on the left hand side of his face. He had treatment for an abccess on his back last August so there is possibly some scarring under. his fur
Circumstances: Bruno went missing from the Eynsham Lock area. He went out as usual and didn't return. He has never gone missing before (not even overnight) so this is very out of character. There was a full moon and still 6" of snow on the ground so it is possible that he went too far and couldn't find his way back.

I have just had a phone call from a man who told me that he had been looking through a lost pets website and claiming to have seen Bruno. He informed me that he was sorry but believed that my cat was deceased. When I asked whereabouts he had seen him he said sorry can't remember the name of the road and hung up. Not sure if this a genuine caller or not?

Hi Peter,Sorry to hear that - it must have been very distressing for you. It's difficult to say, but I would guess that it wasn't a genuine call. We occasionally get calls to the office from people that think its funny to make calls like that. One thing I would say is that the caller can't have seen Bruno's listing here on Animal Finders as we don't display your phone number anywhere. Best wishes,Nick

Hi there,The cat we have doesn't look old enough to be 11, unless he's aged very well. I haven't noticed any grey hairs or scars, despite giving him many belly rubs & a once-over. Of course, you're welcome to come to the practice to see him. If you call tomorow (thursday) morning once we've had a chance to check him for the distinctive features you've mentioned, we can hopefully save you a wasted journey if it isn't him. As he's been at the practice over a week (the minimum legal wait period) he is actually set to go to a new home tomorow, but if it turns out to be Bruno I'm sure the new owners would understand.

Hi & thank you very much for your reply. Bruno doesn't have any grey hairs, there are a few white hairs which he has had since birth, but on first appearance he does look completely black. He does look exceptionally young for his age as does his sister whom we still have. We also have his father, who also looks amazing for his age and my mother has his mother, who also looks amazing and it is from her that he gets his oriental look. Bruno loves his belly rubs and is a loud and persistent purrer - he also extends his claws and likes to knead when being stroked and rubbed. He is quite a long cat and very relaxed and laid back. The scar on his lip is very small and was gotten when he was a kitten, but it is there. He has very good white teeth and none were missing when I last saw him. It would be amazing if this was Bruno and yes please, I would really like the opportunity to come in and see this cat before he is re-homed. Bruno was lost in Eynsham and we searched and leafleted extensively with out any joy, but of course it is quite possible that someone took him in as he is so friendly. I will call you in the morning. many thanks Julia

P.S. I only received the notification about this cat from Animal Finders this afternoon, so didn't realise that he had been with you for a week, otherwise I would have contacted you earlier :-(
