Presume the owners have contacted alll of the builders who were on site that day to see if the cat got into one of their vehicles?

Yes they have. That was my first question too! The builders are aware that he's missing and have checked their vehicles.

I'm sad to report that Jantie didn't make it. We just received this message from his owners:"Just to let you know that a neighbour (behind the neighbour across the road)called to say that he found Janti dead on his back lawn.He may have been knocked over by a car on the road in front of him on thenight he went missing.Anyway, the relief of knowing what happened is really good even if theresult is poor. At least having a body to grieve over is positive.Thank you for your assistance."This report is sadly closed.
