Circumstances: Young black cat, thick coat & healthy. Often seen in our yard, but realised they were sleeping here too. Concerned they may be lost.

Hi if you see the cat again could you try a paper collar to see if there is an owner? You can see how to do it on Blue Cross or Battersea websites under found cat. You can also make a report to Battersea on their website and they will cross check but a photo will really help. Thank you for posting. If the cat seems unwell at all would be worth getting a vet to scan for a microchip and to give emergency treatment. Glad this cat looks healthy.

Sucess story! Found black cat: ID chip showed cat was a stray (neutered & chipped by a charity as a kitten - then returned to the streets ?!! (new policy!). After a month with us, we found him a comfy home with a large garden in SE1. We visit him & he seems very happy to have swapped living under vehicles for regular meals & central heating...
