Have you got posters up in street? I usually recomend at least 100 to start. Door knocking. Leaving scented items out. Physical searches in gardens and surrounding streets. Updat microchip as missing. Does she have an access point at all hours like a catflap?

I’ve signed up to two different lost pet email alerts which notify local vets and shelters about missing cats. I’ve got a missing ad out for her on local social media which will be seen by 4000 people. We’ve done several physical searches including at night with a torch . We’ve put 30 posters up nearby and posted flyers. Scented items I haven’t tried, what do you recommend? I didn’t realinse

As your cat is Microchipped, you can call PetLog (If you are unable to find the answer to your question via our help centre, please contact us on 01296 336579. Or you can PetLog via the webchat pop-up on 'contact us' page. If your pet is missing call 01296 737600 to notify us as soon as you can), so that they can flag your cat as missing, and also to check any 'found cat' reports in your area, (lines are open 365 days a year 24/7). Or visit: www.petlog.org.uk - Every vet and rescue centre knows of Petlog and they are nearly always the first port of call when a lost animal is brought in. If your cat's microchip is registered with a different company, inform them also. You can find out which database holds your pet's details by using the 'Check a chip' facility at identibase.co.uk'; Or https://www.check-a-chip.co.uk/ put the chip number in there to check.

For the first few days/week, cat will hunker down somewhere and not so likely to come out. 2. When they eventually get hungry they will come out at dawn and dusk. This is the best time to go looking. 3. Most important: when looking, do not walk around calling. Instead, go to a specific place for 30 mins or so and just talk, let your voice carry. This will reassure the cat it's ok to come out. 4. Have as much visibility as possible: put up loads of posters, and knock on doors, drop notes. And do this every week or so to keep the info up to date and people still caring. Ask people to check sheds etc. 5. Call around vets and maybe highway agency, just in case 6. Pet detective is very useful, but is really only effective within the first few days of going missing (as dog needs fresh scent of cat to focus on).

Hello. A week ago, I saw a woman walking a small white dog on a leash, and a cat was sniffing the dog. I was surprised and thought the woman might be walking both of her pets, but the cat wasn’t on a leash, which is what caught my attention. This morning, I saw the missing poster for Smudge, and she looks exactly like the cat I saw. I spotted her right at the corner of Fortune Street Park. I really hope she will come back home soon!
