After posting that we found the dog on facebook, a relative of my step-daughter got in touch with her to say she knew the owner. Later that day the owner got in touch but didn't seem that bothered that her dog was missing, and the dog isn't in the best condition so we offered to re-home her and they agreed.

Since closing this report we decided to give the dog to the dog warden for re-homing. We were uncomfortable leaving the dog with our 2 year old and after 2 days of having her, behaviour changed to barking alot and growling etc. Our son has to come first and we weren't ready for this.
