Location: Harbourne Avenue, Paignton, UK
Health: Healthy
Age: 6 years old
Sex: Male

Circumstances: Normal day, had his breakfast. And just didn’t return home! Very out of character, Lunar is a very homely boy, he loves his snuggles, food, home comforts. He never strays far from home.
Other info: There is a cat on the same street as ours which is very similar looking. However lunar is much more silky in fur, and the white on his chest is more furry. He also has an extra marking of white on his face to the right side below his nose.

Hello, first I suggest also posting on doglost.co.uk - another band of people to look for Lunar. I’m sorry Lunar is missing. Check all outbuildings, including empty houses, and cellars. ALWAYS take FURTHER LOOKS as some cats will hide in, or behind an object within, especially if timid. Check behind hedges/bushes too. It is still worth calling him - night/early morning is best and listen intently. Take a torch at night - cats' eyes reflect. Rattle some treats too. Place his UNWASHED blanket into a clean container, along with your scent too. Leave in the garden in a sheltered spot, or hang on the washing line if dry; used towels too. The hoover contents on the garden are a good (if a bit messy) idea - lots of your scent here! Wipe his scent on your garden fences, gates, doors too; anything leading up to the garden. Try a squeaky toy as it may attract his attention. Walk around the area, dragging an object with his scent on, and rattle some cat treats in a box. Someone may be feeding him. (Common problem) When it is nightfall, and you are searching, use a strong torch, as the light will reflect a cats eyes. Poster around the area thoroughly , and also post flyers through doors. Ask around, especially those with children, as they can be very observant - maybe offer a little reward to the children.IT IS ALSO COMMON FOR CATS TO CLIMB INTO DELIVERY VEHICLES. Was there one around your/a neighbour's house that day? Supermarket vehicle? Amazon deliveries/post office van? Ask all neighbours. You could contact all delivery companies. They usually use GPS these days and can say where the van went next, possibly the hop off point if your cat got into the van. If so, put notices/flyers around that area too. If you think Lunar did climb into a van, did it stop anywhere on the way to its destination? Did it get petrol? Did the driver stop off at a shop on the way for anything? Did he post a letter etc. etc. I would definitely try to speak to the driver that day to see if he can remember any detour he might have made. I'm ALWAYS telling van drivers to keep their doors shut whilst delivering to houses, cats hop in and then hop out without even being noticed! One driver told me it happens a lot at his firm and he even carried a cat around until he could drop it off at the end of the day where he had picked it up. Sadly not all cats are so fortunate. Whatever the route he took, that would be my focus. Posters/flyers etc should be put up around the destination as much as around where Lunar went missing from in case he has hopped out there. Put an advert in the local paper - I found a cat this way. You could also try social media, a national paper or local radio. Are there any people away nearby? Call through the letterbox at a quiet time of day so you can hear any reply. Same applies to any houses for sale nearby. Maybe someone did a viewing and Lunar crept in... just a thought. Hope Lunar is home very soon. There's ALWAYS hope. He IS somewhere. It's just narrowing it down that is the hard bit... All the best. Thinking of you.
