Circumstances:	The cat ran past and headed around to where the delivery lorry bays are. It was limping quite badly. There are no houses nearby.
Other info:	The cat was moving fast but limping from I think an injured back leg

First of all I do not know the cat you have found. My Mum has recently taken in a stray male completely Ginger cat who she has been feeding for the last year or so. Before taking him in I put up posters and popped leaflets through doors in Rowden Road, E4 (my Mum lives in Loxham Road). Upon doing this it came to light that a man who rented a house in Rowden Road just upped and left all his cats behind to fend for themselves around two years ago (probably around the time we started seeing Ginge (my Mum’s new cat)). Apparently most of the cats the man had were ginger or ginger and white and none were ever neutered despite one of his neighbours trying to persuade him to do so as the cats kept having litter after litter. I just thought I would let you know this as Sainsburys is quite nearby and some of the other cats left behind were seen near Morrison’s. Ginge has now been to the vets and we have found out he is not microchipped and upon having a blood test he has FIV (similar to HIV in humans - cats can not pass this to humans and generally live long happy lives BUT if they become ill they are less resistant and need to go to the vets immediately. There is currently no treatment to irradicate FIV but neutering is a good step to helping stopping the virus spreading). Ginge has had his first course of jabs and due his second course in a week or two and then I am afraid for him he is to have the snip! The vet reckoned Ginge is around 2 years old - he is very gorgeous, laid back, doesn’t scratch and loves to sit on laps and have a cuddle. I hope the cat you have found isn’t a relative of Ginge but has a lovely home somewhere. Good luck and so pleased you have put him/her on this site. Hopefully someone will make contact ??.
