FOUND CAT: Black and tan cat - Wincanton area, Somerset

Age: 14 years old (approx)
Sex: Unknown
Collar: No
Microchipped: Not sure
Markings: Tall legs. Long body. Pointy ears. Bengal look. Beautiful eyes with dark eyeliner effect. Large paws. Long tail, confident personality. Two black stripes across both front legs above the knee.
Circumstances: He has been roaming the area for about 4 weeks (around Cale Way and Maunder Close in Wincanton). Everyone thought he was someone else's cat, as did I. He was looking thin but neighbours commented that he was probably fine. I have been feeding him recently after speaking to a vet friend who hasn't seen him but thinks he might be missing or neglected. I contacted cats protection two weeks ago to see if he was chipped. I received confirmation yesterday from them that the vets in Wincanton will check if he is chipped, and they are paying for a full health assessment too.
Other info: This cat (I think he is male) is suffering with malnutrition. He is cautious, suggesting he may have been away from his owners for some time and fending for himself. He is extremely hungry, and I have been feeding him until Cats Protection and the Vets are able to see if he is chipped and needs any medical intervention. I'm taking him to the vets tomorrow morning (Thursday 6th Oct.) and Cats Protection are paying for his assessment. He is friendly and purrs, whilst also agitated and wary of other people and cats who might threaten him from eating. He has no problem with my cat and may have come from a home with another animal.

I have left a message on this site for someone who has been looking for their cat PR84231. There are similarities with the cat I have found and I hope they manage to see the photo I'm attaching here in case he is theirs.

The owners spoke to me this morning and have informed me he is theirs after the vet took a look at him yesterday.

I received an email via petsreunited from someone searching for a female tabby cat who went missing in August. I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply as I can't see your comment here in the closed report. The owners of the cat I found have since been located. They live locally and he is a male cat. He is actually a lot older than anyone thought and has had a health check. I hope the person who sent me a message on Saturday (Evernight) reads this and they too find their cat soon
